Use case

An AI calendar planner that fits your tasks into your week

Atlas lets you plan tasks into free time, shows your Google Calendar events beside them, and asks before it sends an invite to anyone else.

The Calendar week view: events from Google Calendar and tasks planned into free time.

What does an AI calendar planner do in Atlas?

It brings your tasks and your calendar into one view. Tasks have lists, due dates, repeats and priorities. The calendar shows your Google Calendar events. You plan a task into free time in your week, or ask Atlas to, so what you meant to do has a time next to it.

You choose what to connect and can disconnect Google Calendar any time in Settings. Atlas connects to Google Calendar only, and not to other calendar providers.

Tasks come from several places. You can add them yourself, and agents can add them too. Tasks from agents land in the same list, marked so you know where they came from. Each task can have a due date, a repeat and a priority, which gives the planner something real to work with.

How do you plan tasks into your day, week and month?

  1. Open Calendar and choose day, week or month.
  2. See your Google Calendar events and your tasks together.
  3. Plan a task into a gap, or ask Atlas to do it for you.
  4. Add your own events, or move them when the week changes.
  5. Open the Dashboard for Your day, a list of what is on today.

The week view: your events and the tasks planned around them.

You can also ask in plain words from Home or from Command-K, which jumps anywhere, starts a task or answers a question. For example: find me two hours on Thursday for the proposal.

A short example. Jordan has a proposal due Friday, three meetings on Wednesday and a dentist visit on Thursday morning. Open Calendar in week view and Jordan sees all four, with the proposal task beside them. Jordan plans the proposal into Thursday afternoon, the one open stretch, and moves a low-priority task to next week. When Atlas moves a task or adds an event only Jordan is in, it reports it with a receipt and Undo.

There are three ways in. Home gives you a greeting and one ask box. Agent mode puts everything else away, with one box and one job, and you can type or speak. Chat shows you a draft and waits for your OK before it sends.

What happens with your own events and invites with guests?

Atlas treats the two cases differently.

  • Your own events. Adding an event only you are in is done and reported. It comes with a receipt and Undo.
  • Invites with guests. These ask first. The card shows who will be invited and the words of the invite, and you answer with Approve, Edit or Not now.
  • A standing yes. For one named job you can allow invites without asking each time, inside limits on who and how many a day. Sends under a standing yes show in amber.

Reading your calendar is something Atlas does on its own. See the four levels for everything it does alone and everything it asks about.

Which agents and apps could help plan your time?

An agent is a job you describe once, with a schedule. These are examples of planning jobs you could describe, plus two Atlas apps:

  • A day planner. Every morning at 8, plan today's tasks into the free time around your events.
  • A week planner. Every Friday, plan next week's tasks around your meetings.
  • A morning brief. Every day at 8, a short look at your calendar, tasks and mail, so your day is ready when you start.
  • An evening review. Every evening at 9, a short look back at the day.
  • Meeting Prep. An Atlas app that gives you a short brief before meetings with other people. Notes become tasks.
  • Meeting Notes. Another Atlas app. Notes from a meeting turn into tasks.

To set one up, describe it in a sentence, such as: every Friday, plan next week around my meetings. Atlas fills in most of the setup, shows a checklist of what is ready and tries the job on last week before anything runs for real. Nothing runs until you turn it on.

Agents run on a server, so they keep their schedule when you close the page. The Agents screen shows what each one is doing and when it runs next, and you can pause one or stop them all. See how agents work.

The Dashboard keeps the day in one place. It shows what is waiting for you and Your day, a list of what is on today. Notifications bring what needs you to your phone, and quiet hours are respected.

Can you undo a change to your calendar?

Yes, for what can be undone. Activity lists everything Atlas did and everything you approved, newest first, with Undo next to the items that can be undone. Deleted items stay in Trash for 30 days.

Some things cannot be taken back. A sent invite reaches someone else, which is the reason invites with guests ask first. If you want to try Atlas on your own week, join the beta.

Questions

Does Atlas work with Google Calendar?

Yes. Atlas connects to Google Calendar, Gmail and Drive. You choose what to connect and can disconnect any time in Settings. It does not connect to other calendar providers.

Can Atlas plan tasks into my free time?

Yes. Calendar has day, week and month views. You can plan a task into a gap in your week yourself, or ask Atlas to do it.

Will Atlas invite people without asking?

No. Invites with guests ask first, unless you gave a standing yes for one named job. Events only you are in are added and reported, with a receipt and Undo.

Can I undo what Atlas adds to my calendar?

Yes, where it can be undone. Activity lists what Atlas did, with Undo next to those items.
