Terms of use

The plain-language basics for using Atlas during the private beta.

Last edited 2026-11-01. A working draft in plain language, not legal advice.

What these terms are

These are the plain-language terms for using Atlas Intelligent Workspace during the private beta. By using Atlas you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Atlas is run by Ishan Srivastava, an individual; “we” means him. How your data is handled is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

The beta

  • Atlas is a beta. It may change, break, pause or lose a feature without warning, and we may end the beta at any time.
  • Atlas is free during the beta. If that changes, we will tell you before it does.
  • We let people in by invite, in stages, and we may remove access if these terms are broken.
  • We would like to hear what works and what does not. Anything you send us as feedback, we may use to improve Atlas without owing you anything for it.

Who can use Atlas

  • You must be at least 16, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
  • For now the beta is open only to people in the United States.
  • You must have an invite. One person, one account: do not share your sign-in.
  • If you use Atlas for a team or a company, you promise you may do so.

Your account

  • Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Give us true details, and tell us if you think someone else has access to your account.

Your content

What you put into Atlas is yours: your tasks, documents, chats, files and everything else you make. You give Atlas permission to store it and process it, including by sending the parts a request needs to the AI providers and services listed in the privacy policy, only so Atlas can do what you asked and keep itself running. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that roll off as the privacy policy says. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train AI models.

You promise you have the right to put it into Atlas, and that it does not break the law or anyone’s rights. If you share something with other people, they can see it as you set; that is your choice.

Acceptable use

Please do not use Atlas to:

  • break the law or other people’s rights;
  • send spam, harass anyone, or pretend to be someone you are not;
  • make or store anything that harms children, or that is meant to deceive or hurt people;
  • try to get around the approval levels, limits or security of Atlas, probe it for weaknesses without asking, or attack it or other people’s accounts. To report a weakness, write to security@atlasiw.com;
  • scrape sites that forbid it, or use Atlas to apply, sign up or buy in ways a site forbids;
  • resell Atlas, or use it to build a competing service;
  • rely on it where a mistake could cause serious harm, such as emergencies or medical care.

AI output and your yes

AI can be wrong, out of date, or sure of something false. Check anything important before you rely on it, especially for legal, medical or financial matters. Atlas is not a substitute for a professional.

Nothing is sent without your yes, given now or ahead of time. In practice:

  • Anything that reaches other people, such as an email, a message or a shared invite, shows you a card first, and nothing happens until you tap Approve. A card you do not answer closes after 10 minutes with nothing sent.
  • A standing yes is a permission you give for one named job, with limits on what, who and how many a day. It lasts until it ends or you take it back. While it is on, Atlas may send under it without asking again, and each use leaves a receipt. You are responsible for what you allow.
  • Some changes to your own things happen without asking, such as adding an event only you are in, or a task for yourself. They leave a receipt, and small ones have an Undo.
  • A sent email cannot be unsent.
  • Atlas Shield and the approval levels reduce risk. They do not remove it.

Connected services and Google data

When you connect Google or another app, you let Atlas act in it on your behalf, within what you approve. Their terms apply to your use of them too, and you must follow them. You can disconnect at any time in Settings. How Google data is handled is described in the privacy policy. If you connect an outside AI agent to Atlas, what it can do is what you allow, and you are responsible for it.

Usage limits

Atlas gives each person a monthly allowance of AI use, and some features have their own limits, such as web search, browser time and file space. Your Settings show how much you have used. When an allowance runs out, the features that use it pause until the next month, or until more is added. You can ask for more inside the app, and we may say no. We may also change limits, or slow down use that puts Atlas or other people at risk.

Availability and changes

We try to keep Atlas running, but during the beta we make no promise that it will always be available or that nothing will be lost. Export what matters to you. We may change or remove features, and we may update these terms; if the change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and if you keep using Atlas afterwards you accept it.

Ending

You can stop using Atlas and delete your account at any time in Settings. We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, that puts Atlas or others at risk, or if we end the beta, and we will say why when we can. When an account ends, your data is handled as the privacy policy says. You can ask us to export it first.

No promises about the beta

Atlas is provided “as is” and “as available”, without promises of any kind, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or lost-profit damages, or for lost data, and our total responsibility to you for anything about Atlas is limited to US$100. Nothing here limits responsibility that the law does not let us limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be heard in the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts. If you live where the law gives you other rights that cannot be waived, you keep them.
